Rick Bingen is a nationally produced Wisconsin-based playwright, and a professor at Carthage College where he teaches computer science and game design. His play THE MEMORY LEAK was a semi-finalist in the Eugene O'Neill National Playwriting Conference and a finalist in the Wisconsin Wrights playwriting contest.

Rick's original plays blend heart, humor, imagination, and theatricality. His work includes contemporary dramas, comedies, Shakespeare-inspired stories, and genre-bending new plays developed and produced throughout the Midwest.

He earned his BA in Theatre and Computer Science from Carthage College and his MS from Georgia Institute of Technology. Rick also works as an actor and director throughout Southeastern Wisconsin. Recently you may have seen Rick as Bottom in Midsummer Night's Dream (Kith & Kin Theatre Collective), Oliver in As You Like It (Wildwood Theater Company), and Trigorin in Stupid Fucking Bird (Placeholder Players).

"Rick created an exhilarating and believable adventure that held tightly to the audience’s attention, spinning us around, making us laugh, grieving of love lost, and hoping for a new love’s bloom."
